Gjenkraft AS has raised NOK 60 million to launch commercial operations at its first industrial wind turbine blade recycling plant in Høyanger, Norway, with an annual capacity of 2,800 tonnes.
The financing combines public grants and private capital, including a contribution from the EU-funded REFRESH project, two project grants from Innovation Norway, and a final NOK 8.6 million tranche from debt and a share issue involving eight local and regional investors.
Gjenkraft’s pyrolysis technology can recycle nearly 100% of wind turbine blade materials, including glass fiber, carbon fiber, oils, foams, and metals, converting them into reusable raw materials. The Høyanger facility is the company’s first commercial plant, creating local jobs. Gjenkraft aims to expand across Europe, targeting multiple plants with a combined capacity of 100,000 tonnes per year by 2035.
