LS Power has completed the acquisition of bp’s USA onshore wind business. The transaction adds about 1,300 MW of operating onshore wind capacity across ten projects to the company’s wider portfolio of renewable generation, storage, flexible gas, and renewable fuels assets.
LS Power now operates more than 22,300 MW of USA-based generation and manages over 780 miles of high-voltage transmission lines. bp Wind Energy will be integrated into Clearlight Energy, one of LS Power’s renewable platforms active in the USA and Canada. Clearlight Energy now oversees about 4,300 MW of wind, solar, and battery storage capacity. The acquired projects are located in Indiana, Kansas, South Dakota, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Hawaii and Idaho.
