Skyborn Renewables has received approval for its 976.5 MW Gennaker offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea from the State Office for Agriculture and Environment in Stralsund, Western Pomerania. The permit, issued on 16 December, allows construction and operation of 63 wind turbines of the 15 MW class.
The approval clears the way for a Final Investment Decision expected in summer 2026, with construction planned over two years and commissioning targeted for 2028. The wind farm site lies around 15 kilometres north of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula, within a designated priority zone for offshore wind in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Skyborn originally secured the site permit in May 2019 and retains exclusive development rights.
