Following the previously announced acquisition of National Grid Renewables by Brookfield Asset Management and its institutional partners, the company will now operate under the name Geronimo Power. The rebranding marks a return to the company’s original identity, established in 2007 under the Geronimo name.
Founded by Noel P. Rahn, a rural Minnesota landowner, Geronimo Power has built a reputation in the renewable energy sector for its engagement with American farmers and rural communities. The company’s projects provide landowners with new income opportunities, support sustainable development, and contribute to a more resilient national energy system.
From Minnesota to Texas, the company currently operates more than 2 GW of power generation capacity, has 1 GW under construction, and manages a development pipeline of over 20 GW. Geronimo Power develops, owns and operates utility-scale solar, wind and energy storage projects across the central United States. Rooted in rural communities, it remains focused on supporting landowners and strengthening local economies through long-term renewable energy investment.
