ACT100ACT Blade has received a Component Certificate for its ACT100 wind turbine blade, issued by UL Solutions. The certification follows structural and lightning testing, as well as final production of the 49.2-metre blade designed for 2 MW turbines. The achievement marks a step towards the first commercial installation of the ACT100 and its introduction to the wider market.

The ACT100 features a lightweight composite internal structure covered with a high-tech textile inspired by racing sails. This design reduces weight, manufacturing costs, and environmental impact. Measurements indicate that the blade can replace conventional designs without increasing turbine loads.

Development of the ACT100 was based on earlier testing of the smaller ACT27 rotor, carried out with the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult at the Energy Technology Centre in Myres Hill, Glasgow, during 2021–22. Over six months, the 13-metre blades generated 184 MWh of electricity with an availability rate of 94.9 per cent.
