Work has started on geotechnical surveys for the planned Lillebælt South offshore wind farm in Denmark. Following a month of seabed test drilling in Jammerland Bay in the Great Belt, investigations are now under way in the Little Belt. Over the next few months a mobile jack-up drilling platform will carry out drilling and testing at 11 planned turbine locations at Lillebælt South.

The surveys aim to provide detailed information on seabed conditions to allow safe and accurate foundation design. Further onshore and offshore surveys for the export cable route will take place later in the year. This work will continue into late 2025. The Lillebælt South offshore wind farm is expected to start producing electricity in 2029. The wind farm is being developed by TotalEnergies, European Energy and Sonfor.
