Next Geosolutions and Green Yard Kleven to convert NG Explorer for offshore seabed surveys

Next Geosolutions Europe and Green Yard Kleven have signed a collaboration agreement to convert the vessel NG Explorer for use in high-specification seabed surveys. The NG Explorer, originally built in 2010 as an offshore support vessel, is 58 metres long, 14 metres wide, with a draft of 4.5 metres.
Enercon and enercity form partnership for German onshore wind sector

Catrin Jung appointed to lead Vattenfall's wind and solar business

Vattenfall has appointed Catrin Jung as Head of Business Area Wind, which covers the company’s offshore and onshore wind operations, as well as large-scale solar and battery projects. She will take up the role on 1 July, succeeding Helene Biström, who is leaving the company.
FLOWRA and DNV agree to collaborate on floating wind research

The Floating Offshore Wind Power Technology Research Association (FLOWRA) of Japan and DNV have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore cooperation in the development of floating offshore wind technologies.
Vestas installs first commercial V172-7.2 MW turbine in Germany

Vestas has completed the installation of its first commercial V172-7.2 MW wind turbine in Salzkotten, Germany. The turbine was delivered and installed on schedule and has a hub height of 175 metres.
Drift Offshore and UHI partner to deliver subsea training in Scotland

Drift Offshore has entered a partnership with UHI North, West and Hebrides to address the global shortage of skilled workers in the subsea sector, which supports a range of offshore industries including renewable energy. The agreement will see the development and delivery of an introductory training course focused on the operation of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), trenching and subsea equipment.
Investment to expand floating wind capacity at Kishorn Port

Repowering order in Lower Saxony awarded to Nordex

Nordex has received an order from Umwelt Management (UMaAG), based in Cuxhaven, Germany, for the Drochtersen repowering project in Lower Saxony. The company will supply and install eight N163/6.X wind turbines.
Rhenus and Enercon develop push barge for wind turbine blade transport

Rhenus Group is developing new inland waterway logistics for the wind energy sector with the construction of the push barge Rhenus Berlin 1. The vessel is being built to meet Enercon’s specifications for transporting its latest generation of rotor blades.
